Artist Biography and Work Summary

Gail and Paul Phelps has been on the outdoor summer art show circuit for over 20 years. Last year, they were juried and approved to participate in 16 outdoor summer art shows. These were some of the largest shows in Michigan. Some of the shows were: 78th annual Tulip Time Art & Craft show in Holland, 43rd annual MSU Arts & Crafts show in Lansing, 41st annual Art in the Park in Flushing, 34th annual Riverside Art Festival in Bay City, 44th annual Art in the Park in Muskegon, 28th annual art in the Park in Plymouth, 13th annual Outback Art Fair in Marquette, 47th annual Tawas Waterfront Fine Art Festival in Tawas City, 16th annual Art in the Village in Milford, 33rd annual Harrisville Arts and Crafts in Harrisville, 20th annual Lac Ste Clair Fine Art Fair in St Claire Shores, 40th Annual Ohio Sauerkraut Festival, Waynesville, OH.

Gail has a Bachelors and Masters Degrees and is retired from a county government as a high level manager and currently works full time at the glass company. Paul has Bachelors and two Masters Degrees and currently works full time as an artist in the glass company. Paul is retired as an owner of an investment firm.

Paul and Gail have won numerous awards at juried art shows. Some of them are: 1995 Art Glass Festival, 2nd place; 2000 Tawas Bay Waterfront Fine Art show, 3rd place for glass; 2004 Tawas Bay Waterfront Fine Art show, 3rd place for glass; 2005 Tawas Bay Waterfront Fine Art show, 2nd place for glass; 3rd place 2008 Tawas Bay Waterfront Fine Art Show.

Our newest product introduction for 2008 are 8 x 10” and 6 x 6” hanging stained glass panels with an outside border of 1 ½” bevels, with a very colorful and heavily textured stained glass center.

The glass company provides custom glass products to builders and customers in the tri metro Detroit area. The include door inserts, sidelight inserts, kitchen cabinet inserts, window panels, transom inserts, and other stained glass projects.

Gail and Paul have two rescued retired greyhounds that travel with them to the shows. They stay in the motor home during show hours.
